Brown Advisory has launched the Global Value Select and International Value Select funds, two new value investment strategies led by Nick Kirrage, who joined the firm from Schroders in October 2025.
Kirrage spent more than two decades at Schroders, latterly as co-head of its global value team, where he led 13 senior investors managing over £13bn in assets. He joined Brown Advisory as partner and portfolio manager, bringing the firm one of the most recognised names in the UK value investing space.
Both the Global Value Select and International Value Select strategies are grounded in behavioural value investing, designed to identify companies trading below intrinsic value due to market psychology.
Global Value Select covers worldwide markets, while International Value Select follows the same process but excludes US equities.
Both target double-digit annualised net-of-fees returns over the long term, as well as outperformance relative to their respective benchmarks. A Global Value Select UCITS fund is due to launch in the coming weeks.
The investment process combines valuation screens with a proprietary ‘pain mapping’ approach, which evaluates the investment universe to identify the most promising opportunities within the cheapest third of stocks. AI tools support the screening process, while portfolio construction targets between 35 and 65 holdings, sized according to conviction, prospective return and balance sheet strength.
Kirrage said: “We’re thrilled to offer this modern, data-led, true-to-label value approach to the market. Through our contemporary approach and deep fundamental analysis, we aim to capitalise on contrarian ideas that drive long-term returns.”
Michael Heap, associate portfolio manager, will work alongside Kirrage on the funds. He joined Brown Advisory in December 2025 from Orbis Investment Management, where he spent 12 years as an investment analyst.
The team also includes dedicated analysts Haseem Shah, formerly a portfolio manager at Mondrian Investment Partners, and Valerio Dussizza, who joined from Lansdowne Partners. All four are based in Brown Advisory's London office.
Chris Bartlett, global head of institutional business at Brown Advisory, added: “Nick, Michael, Haseem and Valerio have extensive value investment experience, and we are proud to have them join us.
“Our firm's breadth of resource and independent, long-term mindset have enabled us to build a highly talented team and launch new strategies for the benefit of our global client base.”
