Consensus is for non-farm payrolls growth to have slowed from 227,000 in November to 150,000 in December.
Also due out in the US are the JOLTS labour market report on Tuesday, the minutes of the Federal Reserve's last policy meeting on Wednesday, the monthly retail sales report on Thursday and the University of Michigan's consumer confidence index on Friday.
Ahead of those releases, on Monday consultancy S&P Global will publish the results of its services sector Purchasing Managers' Indices for the euro area, UK and US.
Further afield, Friday will also bring with it readings for Chinese consumer and producer prices in December.
